just keep swimming...

My theme song for this week. I've been really sick but its one of those sicknesses where from the outside you look normal, but inside you are screaming "Give me drugs!" ha! Too much to do, no time for rest so I'm singing this song in my head today.

Sometimes you just need a laugh
and these pictures made me do just that.

a note from the Mr.

I have some pretty amazing talents that I would like to share with all of my wife’s blog friends. I want this to be a full participation post for Cole. It is meant to be funny so please feel free to share some of your unique, special talents with everyone.

1. I have the unique ability to recognize a fake laugh. I work very hard to be somewhat humorous. In that line of work (humor), I hear various laughs. Cackling, snorting, the sprinkler laugh, and most commonly the running out of gas laugh. These all, believe it or not, can be fake laughs.

2. Like many lawyers I am able to argue on both sides of the argument. I can fight for a conservative mindset and then just when you are against the ropes, I come at you from the mindset you were just fighting for. Very exciting for me, very confusing for you!

3. I am 6’7”. I am able to barely clear a doorway and most ceiling fans. Enough said.

4. I stole this from Dane Cook, but I can ninja your mind. This goes along with #2 sometimes, but I am able to place a thought in your mind and by giving it a little time to mature, later in the conversation I can use it to knock you on your tailfeathers (figuratively speaking).

5. Several people have what is referred to as gaydar, I have faithar! Usually within about 5 minutes I am able to discern what a person’s religious beliefs are. Pretty cool right? Not really.

6. I can jack people’s phones and make calls to half the people in their phonebook before they even realize what happened. I know I am going to get comments on this. Several of Nicole’s followers have experienced the pleasure.

7. I have the ability to watch shows on the Home and Garden network, Project Runway, and the Notebook and still be completely comfortable with my manhood.

8. I have the very, very unique ability not to watch the show Lost and not feel like I have a giant void in my life. I don’t need you Lost, you don’t control me!

9. I have a male Indian friend who is very attractive, while this isn’t a special talent, it is fairly uncommon. Seriously ladies his name is Shibu and he is one of Cole’s blog friends.

10. And last but not least, I was able to not be very attractive and still get the most gorgeous girl in the world. She is my BMW (Beautiful Mexican Wife), so hot!

Thank you Cole for allowing me to go a little crazy with this post and if any of you would like to see the more serious side of me please check out my brand new blog.

And don't forget to check out Cole's guest post below.

picture mail diaries

So this morning I was going through my picture mail on my phone and was laughing so hard about how insanely weird and random the pictures are.
Judge for yourself...

Picture One. An inside joke I have with my stinky friend. I was so excited to find this for her. Deordorant soap who knew?  Love you friend!
Picture Two. So remember when I told you yesterday that I'm obsessed with cereal? I wasn't kidding. I get really excited when my favorite is on sale, SO excited that I have to announce it to my friends via picture mail. But seriously 2 boxes for the price of one- I had to tell the world. :)
Picture Three. Can you believe he fell asleep like this? So funny. Can you believe I now have four pictures of Micah sleeping on my blog? haha
Not weird enough yet? How about this...Picture Four. Yep. That's poop. I had to capture the joys of motherhood.
Picture Five. Shopping with aunt coco is so much fun!
Picture Six. Don't you love it when you find products with your name or last name on it. Had to take a picture. This is my maiden name by the way. And the water was really good too.
Picture Seven. Micah: "Mommy he just flew up there."

And lastly Picture Eight. So scary! He kept staring at me.Sorry boys there will be no chuck E cheese birthday parties for you.

Alright totally random post. And these were only 8 of almost 100 weird pictures.
Can anyone beat these?
If you have some crazy pictures in your phone that you think can compete with these I want to see them.

Reminder: Last day to enter the giveaway!

Wednesday- pick me up

a few things to make you smile today.

{one}Awkwardfamilyphotos.com
If you have never been to this site you have to check it out.
Here's a little preview...and there's so many more awkward goodies.
{two}A lot of people I know love fmylife.com but I enjoy mylifeisaverage.com more, probably because I have such an average life and can relate to most things on there. Is that sad? This one was my favorite, because I know I've thought this several times.
“Today, I saw a commercial for the Snuggie. I thought it was stupid idea but I couldn’t change the channel because I was under a blanket and I didn’t want my arms to get cold." MLIA
{Three} Really? I mean really? Can you imagine sleeping in this after watching jaws? I know I've  mentioned before on here that I have a big time fish phobia. The thought of sleeping in one of these really creeps me out. Such a weird invention.
{Four}Last night I finally watched Saturday's SNL on hulu.
Betty White was the host and she was hilarious.  Best SNL in a long time. Dusty Muffin-oh so funny!Check it out if you're into that kind of humor.

I laughed so hard I cried

Last night I stumbled across this blog and could not stop reading. Some of the content is a bit icky but for the most part it's just hilarious! My husband thought I was crazy because he could hear me in the room just crying laughing over some of these pictures. Sometimes we just need a good laugh.
Here were some of my favorites...

no one ever told me

I saw this really cute post awhile back and this weekend I was reminded of it so I had to track it down and share. A Little Dear wrote about all the things that no one ever told her about motherhood. And these were a few that she was so right about (for me anyways)...
•going to the bathroom without an audience is a rare occurrence.
•your kids think you are a walking encyclopedia at all times of the day

•your boobs will never look the same...single ladies I envy you this!
•You will never be on time for anything again...my husband cracks me up when he asks me why I'm up an hour before we have to go. Let's see I have to get ready, have to get two boys ready, get diaper bag ready, and so on and so on.
•The phrase "the laundry is done" no longer applies to you

•Showering (or bathing) without "company" is few and far between

This last one cracked me up because this was my bathing experience this weekend. I don't ever bring the camera in the tub with me but I had to take a picture of this. Cars lined up all around the tub and the "company" she was talking about. I wonder if little girls do this too?

Big mouth...

Billy Bass. I apologize right now if anyone has one of these and actually likes it. Every year around Christmas time my friends and I get together and do a huge white elephant gift exchange. One year someone decided to bring this fantastic gift and get this...the fish doesn't even sing! Seriously...worst white elephant gift ever. But we decided to start a friendly ritual and have a little fun with mr. billy bass. Sporadically throughout the year we sneak him into each others houses and hide him in a silly spot, like kitchen cuboards or high up plant shelves. It's hilarious and annoying at the same time. I say annoying because I just found him hiding in my car. Ah I love my friends.

Oh and if any of you friends are reading this- just so you know, hiding this sucker with my 3 year old son is not such a good idea. He loves his mama and I know just how to get him to talk. Can you say candy!!! Be prepared to get a visit from mr. bass real soon. ;)

Anyone else have any fun rituals with friends?

Get prepared for awesomeness!

My real life friend Lauren at Cuethesunshine posted the coolest book on her blog yesterday. I’m going to get it asap. So take a visit to her blog, and check out this site 1000 awesome things  because it made me really super happy yesterday. A few of my favorites from there...

#992 being the first table to get called up for the dinner buffet at a wedding.
#958 being the first person in to a really crowded movie theater and getting prime seats
#895 Getting something with actual handwriting on it in the mail
#890 Really, really tall people I better say this one, my husband is 6'8!
#883 Ugly actors

I think I'll probably start posting these now and then.
I believe I'm off to trade in books (yep made the decision), and go to a salsa festival in the park.
What are you up to today?

I can't remember where I found this picture. If you know it's owner please tell me.:)

expectations vs. reality

These pictures made me smile today.
There are days when one scoop just doesn't cut it.
and

Such a good movie. I have to say it did make me so happy to be done with dating.
Sorry single friends. Still worth the watch. And I promise Snooki's not in it.

don't you hate it

So this past weekend my husband and I finally hung up pictures after being in our house for four months. I’m really normally not a procrastinator when it comes to this stuff. I don’t know why it took me this long. Anyway, Saturday night friends were over and when they were looking at the photo collage on one of my walls they pointed out that there were random girls in several of my photos. So when I went over and looked, sure enough they were right. Don’t you hate that! When a friend or family member, seems to have a different date to every big event and for some reason the girl ends up ruining what would have been a fantastic picture. Not that she looks bad, it’s just you know you will never see her again after that night, well except of course hanging on your wall forever. Am I alone or is this a problem for anyone else?

This predicament is also seen on how I met your mother if any of you are fans of the show. I watch it from time to time and it always cracks me up. This episode talks all about the issue-who is that girl? Any suggestions on how to get rid of this problem? I guess it's a funny dillema to have. If you're reading this, love you Josh. No worries about the picture above just a funny example. :)
