unexpected events

Earlier this week while playing basketball Stephen ruptured his achilles tendon. Surgery is set for Tuesday and it's looking like he will be off that leg for six months. Which means no more triathalon, no summer hiking trip, road trip, or skydiving trip. It's been a bit of a bummer of a week but these things happen. I think it's just  important that when they do to be flexible and stay positive.

I've been brainstorming fun things we could do for the rest of the summer in place of our other plans. And the big test for us this week is really trusting God that He's going to provide with the unexpected medical costs that we have to come up with by Tuesday. Time and time again I've watched Him pull us out of tight spots and I know that this time won't be any different.

So this morning I'm thinking about how completely blessed we are even with the current circumstances. I'm believing that we are being taken care of and there is absolutely no need for worry.

Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down,
but an encouraging word makes it glad.
Proverbs 12:25

Cast all your anxieties, all your worries,
all your concerns,
once and for all on Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5: 7
