become an abolitionist

A long post, but so important.
And a gift for you at the end.
Living in America it’s very easy to become desensitized to the suffering going on in the world. We get so caught up in everyday life that we hardly notice that people are being enslaved right in our backyards. It wasn’t until last year that I first heard about children being sex trafficked not only in third world countries but in my state capitol too.
Slavery is more widespread today than ever before. More than 1 million children are exploited in the commercial sex trade every year, some younger than 5 years old. This dirty little secret is affecting countries on every continent and the way to stop it is to use your voice and speak for those who can’t speak for themselves. Bring awareness to this horrific tragedy that is going on.

There are few organizations fighting this battle. These are the 3 close to my heart, please take the time to check out these amazing organizations and if you find it in your heart, get involved, give a gift, or use your voice to bring awareness. It’s our responsibility to do justice and defend those being wronged.

Mission: Rescuing girls in Fiji who have been sold by their families into slavery and giving them a safe haven at Homes of Hope Village. The women find new lives for themselves and their children and no longer have to be victims.

Mission: A safe house for victims in the Phoenix area to come and find the healing they need to rebuild their futures.

Mission: abolition and restoration! Preventing children from sex slavery and restoring the survivors with aftercare solutions.
