Undeserved love

Something that stuck with me this morning from Crazy Love
 bits from chapter 3& 4...

God doesn't need us.
Yet... He chooses us.

The irony is that while God doesn't need us but still wants us, we desparately need God but don't really want Him most of the time. He doesn't force us to love Him. It's our choice. Would He be loving if He didn't draw us toward what is best for us (even if that happens to be Himself?)

So there is an incalculable, faultless, eternal God who loves the frail beings He made with a crazy kind of love. Even though we could die at any moment and generally think our lives are pretty sweet compared to loving Him, He persists in loving us with unending, outrageous love.
